The legal career of Marta Dargas-Draganik, PhD has taken more than a few unexpected turns. From choosing her professional path to diving into a deep fascination with China — each step marked a bold pivot. After completing her PhD in Chinese law, Marta received a year-long scholarship in China. By then, she already knew there was no turning back. She fully immersed herself in Chinese legal systems and business culture, returning multiple times — including to Hong Kong, where she built strong legal networks.
Today, she advises Polish companies doing business in China and Chinese companies entering the Polish market. She offers legal guidance, helps organise operations, and connects clients through her established professional contacts. She also trains entrepreneurs in Chinese business culture, knowing just how vastly different it is from Western norms — and how deeply cultural understanding shapes business success.
When not focused on Chinese-related matters, Marta provides legal support to science and technology parks, advises startups, and handles corporate matters for tech companies. She serves as a mentor in startup acceleration programs and regularly trains entrepreneurs.
Her approach always begins with building client relationships — understanding their goals, needs, and expectations. She enjoys drafting and negotiating contracts, engaging in open dialogue with clients, and navigating the deal-making process.
